General

Q. I don't live in a major city. Can I still get phone service with you?
A. Just Reconnect provides prepaid home phone service in Alberta, BC, Ontario and Quebec to areas served by Bell and Telus. As long as there's been previous service at your address and everything is still properly wired, we can get you connected. If you live on a reserve it is VERY IMPORTANT that you give us the following information:
- Legal land description (lot, block, plan #)
- Name of the reserve
- Previous # at that location

Q. How long does it take to get hooked up?
A. In Ontario and Quebec it usually takes 7-10 business days, in British Columbia and Alberta it takes 3-5 business days for reconnection. Note - these are approximate times only; delays may be caused if the service provider is busier than usual, if a technician visit is required, if there is any difficulty locating your address or if additional information is required.

Q. Can I keep my old number?
A. No, unfortunately not.

Q. I am moving soon. Can I keep the telephone number you gave me?
A. You can keep the same number provided it fits in with the numbers in the area that you are moving to. There is an additional charge to move the service to your new address.

Payment Questions

Q. How much does it cost?
A. The monthly fee is $ 39.95 (plus taxes) for all provinces. See our Price Comparison page.

Q. How can I make my payments?
A. Payment methods:
1. By using our Easy Pay service.
2. Telephone and Internet banking at ALL banks
3. Visa or Mastercard - a pre-authorization is required
4. Do a BILL PAYMENT at any TD Canada Trust Bank

Q. Can I pay by cheque?
A. We accept money orders. However do not accept personal cheque payments.

Q. Can I pay by credit card?
A. Yes, please call our office so we can fax you a credit card authorization form.

Billing Questions

Q. I still owe my previous telephone company. Can I still get phone service with Just Reconnect?
A. Yes you can, however you are obligated to pay off any outstanding bills with other telephone service providers.

Q. Why does it cost more than Telus, Bell, MTS, SaskTel, etc?
A. We are reselling the local carriers lines to you, so there is a mark-up to cover our administration expenses.

Q. Will I receive an invoice each month?
A. Yes, as a courtesy, Just Reconnect sends you an invoice to your email address each month, roughly 10 - 14 days before your due date. It is important to remember that this is a prepaid telephone service and it is your responsibility to ensure that Just Reconnect receives your payment on or before your due date to continue your service.

Q. If I referred someone, do I get a discount?
A. Yes, once the person you have referred has been reconnected, you will receive $30 credit ($15  off of your monthly bill for two months.) There is no limit to the number of people you can refer.

Q. When are my payments due?
A. Your first payment is due before you get connected.

Your due date will be a week before the date that your phone line was connected. For example, if you are hooked up on the 21st, your bills will always be due on the 14th of every month. This is a pre-paid telephone service – you must pay on or before your due date to continue your service for the next month.

Disconnection Questions

Q. If I miss a payment, how long will it be before I am disconnected?
A. We give you a call within 24 hours of being overdue and leave a message. If you do not make acceptable arrangements to pay by the next day we will begin the disconnection process. Just Reconnect may agree to let you make a late payment if you call us, however there will be a $10 late payment fee applied. The decision to allow a late payment, and whether to apply a late fee is entirely at the discretion of Just Reconnect.

Q. If you do disconnect me, can my telephone service be reconnected?
A. Yes you can. However, there will be a reconnection fee that will need to be paid with your monthly bill before we reconnect you. We cannot guarantee that you will receive the same phone number.
