“Just Dial” refers to Just Dial Communications Inc.
“You” refers to the telephone service subscriber.
“Telephone service” means pre-paid local phone service subscription only and excludes the actual phone set, equipment, attachments or wiring within the premises of the subscriber.
Pre-paid local phone service (telephone reconnection) - Basic service includes unlimited local calling, 911 emergency service and toll free # access. Unless otherwise stated the following services will be blocked from the line:
- Long distance service
- Calls to toll access numbers i.e. 900 and 976#’s
- Collect calls
In some provinces Directory Assistance and Pay Per Use Features (*69) will be blocked from the line, however in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, and in some areas of Quebec, directory assistance & pay per use will be available. These calls cost $2.00 per use and are due immediately, so use discretion when using them.
Individual Line Service Charges (ILS) – applicable to Alberta only. Just Dial is assessed ILS charges by Telus for those lines that have been converted from a party line. If ILS charges are applicable to your location, Just Dial will pass them on to you, however we will not mark them up.
Invoices - You will be sent an invoice approximately 14 days before your next due date that will include the amount for your next month of pre-paid telephone service. Just Dial sends invoices as a courtesy only – it is your responsibility to remember your due date and ensure that your payment for your next month of service is received by Just Dial on time.
Due Date – Your due date will be a week before the date that your phone line was connected. For example, if you are hooked up on the 21st, your bills will always be due on the 14th of every month. This is a pre-paid telephone service – you must pay on or before your due date to continue your service for the next month. Just Dial Communications Inc. may disconnect your telephone service without notice if you fail to pay on time. If you call to make arrangements Just Dial may agree (entirely at their discretion) to allow you to make a late payment, however you will then be charged a late payment fee of $10.
Disconnections - If your telephone service is disconnected due to non-payment or late payment you will be subject to a reconnection fee to get your line reconnected. There is no guarantee that you will be issued the same phone #.
Payments - All payments must be made in guaranteed funds by cash payment at an Agent or at a financial institution, credit card, online or telephone banking, or by sending Just Dial a certified cheque or money order. Please note that personal cheques are not acceptable. Do not make payments through bank machines because they take much longer to reach us than other payment methods and you risk getting your phone disconnected due to the payment arriving late.
Maintenance & Repair of Telephone Service - Just Dial agrees to supply telephone service to the demarcation point and has the responsibility of any maintenance or repairs up to the demarcation location only.
Inside wiring and jacks - You are responsible for all additional charges for installation or repair to inside wring or jacks. Inside wiring is defined as any wiring inside the demarcation point of the dwelling, and includes but is not limited to the installation of jacks, or repair and installation of the lines themselves. If a problem with interior wiring is discovered after the line is connected to the demarcation point you have two options:
1.) You can hire an independent electrician to fix the problem.
2.) At your request, Just Dial will order a service technician visit on your behalf. Just Dial reserves the right to request a security deposit prior to the commencement of any repairs or prior to testing any faults in the telephone service.
All requests for repair or service changes must come to Just Dial. Your telephone service is only with Just Dial Communications Inc. If you call Bell, Telus, MTS, Sasktel or Aliant directly they will not be able to help you.
In the event of an interruption in your Just Dial telephone service, except as explicitly stated in this agreement, Just Dial Communications Inc. makes no warranty or conditions, express or implied, including any implied warranty or condition of merchantability or of fitness for a particular purpose. In no event shall Just Dial Communications Inc. be liable for consequential or exemplary damages, including lost profit, or damages for personal injury, whether arising out of breach of warranty, breach of contract, or otherwise, and regardless whether such damages were or should have been foreseen. Total liability of shall in no event exceed the amounts paid by the customer to Just Dial under this contract.
Just Dial reserves the right, at it’s own discretion, to refuse service or discontinue service to any customer.
Cancellation of Service - You must give 30 days notice of cancellation. Any request to cancel or remove service without 30 days notice of cancellation will result in forfeiture of monies paid. If you request a cancellation of your order before your telephone service is installed to the demarcation point Just Dial will retain a $25 administration fee. Refund cheques will be issued from Just Dial Head Office.
Just Dial Communications Inc. reserves the right to change pricing without notification.
Any and all information received by Just Dial will become the property of Just Dial Communications Inc.
